“What we fear the most” illustrates the universal anxieties of today’s society through symbolic elements of Greek Mythological gods. The underlying desires behind these fears are visually explored to examine the impact of these emotions on our lives.

Always being watched, the want/need of privacy.
(The story of Hera sends Argus to be the watcher of Io.)
People always seek privacy, but what if you never know you have been watched?

Fear of getting aged, becoming unhealthy and death, the desire to keep being youth and healthy.
(The Cup of Hygeia)
Use Hygeia's symbol but change a little bit of it. Make the snake strike down the cup and pour out the stuff inside of it. Here use the melting candle as a symbol of life

Being controlled. One's freedom has been limited. The desire for freedom.

Fire here is present as the symbol of Prometheus, being locked with the rock hands.

Thesis 4

Fear of pain, the desire to be away from it, and the lack of comfort and security. The desire for security.
(Use Ares and Soteria's symbols. )
The cloud turned into animal shapes are about the attack the sanctuary. These aninmals are symbols of Ares. The sanctuary and the magic shield here present as symbols of Soteria.

Alone with no help around, the want of being loved/cared for.

A pomegranate flower falls into the underworld water that looks like a hand. Wheat trying to reach the flower but cannot help.

Fear of being alone and facing the unpredictable situation, the want of everything to be in control

Weathervane that have a rudder with a ball here present as the symbol of Tyche, and it was broken by a comet.

Fear of not being recognized and worthy.
(Artemis and Apollo)
The Moon is always seen as weaker than the Sun and is easily overpowered by the Sun in its glory. And sometimes the Moon is not willing to be subordinated to the Sun.

Thesis 8

Fear of being surpassed, the desire to maintain dominance and the desire for power.
(Kronos & Zeus)
Lightning is undoubtedly the symbol of Zeus. The sand, on the other hand, symbolizes the timing sand in the hourglass, representing Kronos, the god of time. This is the battle between father and son for the ruler status. The battle was so intense that even fulgurites formed due to lightning striking the sand.

The fear of being forgotten or forgetting something important, the want of knowing someone remembered him or the desire of keeping good memories /want of legacy.

Clio is the goddess of history and poetry. She is the daughter of Mnemosyne, the daughter of the goddess of memory. Also, she is one of the nine muses.
If everything that should be remembered dissolves in flames, what is left?

Fear of starvation, thirst and no shelter, the want of basic needs of survival.
